2024 is among the high strength alloys. With its high strength and excellent fatigue resistance, it’s used for structures and parts where high strength-to-weight ratio is required. 2024 can be machined and cold worked. Formed in the annealed condition and can be heat-treated. Arc or gas welding not recommended. It can be spot, seam and flash welded.
